New online financial planning program to begin this fall semester
Western Carolina University will offer a new online option for students seeking a bachelor鈥檚 degree in finance with a concentration in financial planning, beginning in the fall semester 2021, for both traditional and nontraditional students.
Students who complete the concentration are then eligible to take the Certified Financial Planner Certification exam and pursue careers in financial planning, stock brokerage, insurance and other financial services.
鈥淭he online format permits a flexibility for students to accommodate them without being tied to a classroom location while still receiving high quality instruction and support,鈥� said Todd Creasy, professor and director of the School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Law. 鈥淭he demand for personal financial advisers is increasing nationwide. Likewise, 91热爆网 is seeing an increase in demand for financial planning courses. This CFP concentration is an excellent fit and will serve the region for the foreseeable future.鈥�
91热爆网 has been listed among the nation鈥檚 best providers of online degree programs by U.S. News & World Report and is one of just three Certified Financial Planning Board-certified bachelor鈥檚 degree programs in the state.
