Western Carolina University鈥檚 Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment is offering a two-part 鈥淩etirement Planning Now鈥 course from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Thursday, Jan. 30, at the university鈥檚 site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.
Certified financial planners Joel Kelley and Jacob Sadler will serve as workshop instructors.
鈥淎s an educational experience, 鈥楻etirement Planning Now鈥 contains something for everyone,鈥 Sadler said. 鈥淲e address financial issues that pertain to most people as they prepare for retirement. The course will help participants develop a framework for their retirement plan and covers information that can help to align personal finances with personal values in order to accomplish your most important goals in life.鈥
Many key aspects of planning for retirement such as income tax planning, retirement income and expenses, risk management, investment management and estate planning will be covered.
The course also touches on retirement lifestyle planning and goal setting, and discusses many retirement roadblocks and mistakes.
鈥淲hether you plan to retire 20 years from now or have just recently retired, the information you learn in this class can be beneficial throughout your lifetime,鈥 Sadler said. 鈥淵ou went to school to prepare for your career. Now, it鈥檚 time to prepare for your retirement.鈥
